Our Story

We are an established building business on the north-west coast of Tasmania. We take pride in our work and always provide a safe, friendly and enthusiastic attitude towards our clients and projects to ensure an excellent end result in all the work we do.

It all started in 2014 with James and Peter and their passion for building and doing renovations. They branched out after 3 years into the residential industry; building new homes as a new side to the business, while continuing renovations.

8 years later and with a strong team of 9 employees, we look to continue into the future striving for quality over quantity and gaining clientele respect.

Our Process

We understand how stressful and daunting the thought of the building process can be. Whether it's your new home or renovation we are here to help guide you. With our process we work alongside our clients and help navigate through every step needed to get your project started. We can assist with designing your plans from the start or you can choose from any of our pre-made plans. We have a list of trusted suppliers that also help you make those tough decisions to make sure you get the end result you always wanted. Here at Topnotch we believe communication is the key in working with our clients from day 1 to the handover date.

Break Down Of Our Process

First contact
Give the team a call or email and we can discuss your plans and ideas about your project.

Meeting
After our first point of contact we can meet with you onsite and further brain storm some ideas or go over the plans you have already designed.

Design and plans
This is where your ideas start coming to life. We set our clients up with our draftsman and they will help you put the final pieces of the puzzle together until you are completely satisfied.
Along with your plans we also organize the soil sample, engineering plans, energy rating and any other documents and paper work needed. Once we have all of the above this will be sent to the building surveyors to be prepared for council.

Council
All the documents and plans from the building surveyors are now sent to council to be assessed and put into there system for approvals. We will guide you through this paper work and any other questions you may have about this stage.

Supplier selection
After you are satisfied with your plans this is where the fun begins to start making your selections on fixings and fixtures. You will receive a suppliers list with all the details you need to book a time with each supplier to make your selections. Once selections are these can be added to the quote to make sure the end contract price is as close as possible to your budget.

Contract and bank
Once selections are made from our suppliers all quotes are added into a final quote for your approval. Once all parties are happy and within the clients budget we now proceed to a building contract. We will meet with you and walk you through our contracts so you have a full understanding of what it is your signing.
It's now time to take your contract to the bank for approval of your home loan.

Commencement of construction
Once the bank has approved your loan, paid the deposit invoice and the council has sent the start work notice it is now time to start the building work.
Communication between our clients will continue until we have completed the project and all parties are completely satisfied. Here at Topnotch we are here to help guide our clients and answer any questions along the way. Our main goal is to make this process as smooth and stress free as possible.
